GCC TO ROLL OUT UNIFIED TOURIST VISA BY YEAR'S END

By the end of 2024, a unified tourist visa will be available for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The announcement was made at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM).^[1]

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE's minister of economy, has advocated for this visa, which will enable travelers to spend more than 30 days exploring various GCC locations.

The rollout of the unified tourist visa aligns with the GCC 2030 tourism strategy, providing a substantial boost to the sector's contribution to regional GDP.

By the end of 2022, the GCC boasted 10,649 hotel establishments, with the UAE ranking as the second-largest market after Saudi Arabia. The region also witnessed a remarkable increase in hotel rooms, reaching a total of 674,832 rooms.^[2]
